European Province 

King Alexander of the Brittons has ruled the Province for eighteen years.  His father, King Edward, ruled for thirty-two years before him after seizing control, relatively peacefully, from King Otto the Second of the Heinrichs after a family reign of ninety-four years.  A state of mutual cooperation has existed between Europe and America since the Heinrich period.  The European Province has, on the whole, remained stable since the uniting of the European Monarchies one hundred and sixty years ago.

Asian Province  

        There are many warring factions in this volatile land, but the principal ruler is recognized world-wide as The Khan, Mougrel the Slayer.  Opposition exists from rival Indian, Arab and Chinese factions.  During the wars between America and Africa, the Khan heavily aided the African warlords by first cutting off American trade routes and supplying weapons and supplies to the Africans, and later actual military intervention, attacking American overseas forces close to Asian borders.  The most notable attack was the massacre of the Masoom-bi Trading Post and Marine Supply Depot.  A full scale war was narrowly averted after intense negotiations (including Europe’s threat of offering full military support to America) ended in the lifting of all trade restrictions between Asia and America and the promise of much needed medical aid to help combat a typhoid epidemic.  It was later named the Bangkok Treaty.

African Province

A number of tribes (the exact number is not known due to the constant merging and breaking up of larger tribes) rule this harsh famine-fraught land.  The more noteable tribes are the Nubian (broadly covering Egypt across to Morocco), Kanaga (South Africa as far as Congo) and Oumbossa (Kenya across to Nigeria).  The Kanaga united the tribes against America in a war that lasted four years after America set up a small experimental colony near the Kanaga's territory in Angola.  The Kanaga reacted fiercely to these 'invaders' and slaughtered every man, woman and child; one hundred and three in all.  America promptly declared war.  The fighting came to a head when, with Asian backing, many tribes united under the single Kanaga banner invaded the American mainland.  Heading to the capital, they made it as far as Atlanta and then were forced back.  They were finally defeated (lack of supplies due to Asia's withdrawal from the conflict, along with a European blockade of the Gulf of Mexico being root causes) at New Orleans in the Easter War.

Oceanic Province  

There are many independent countries within this Province (the larger ones consisting of Greater Australia, Queensland, Victoria, New Zealand and Papua) but all are united by the Oceanic Defence Treaty.  Although there are occasional squabbles between member nations, the Treaty has held strong for nearly fifty years.  Their policies, although generally insular, do extend to positive diplomatic links with Europe and America and a neutral stance towards Asia.

Artic and Antarctic Provinces

No recognized regimes.  Small towns have emerged in these cold inhospitable areas which are mainly inhabited by pirates, profiteers and individuals who, for one reason or another, are unable or unwilling to live in the more civilised provinces.
